Frequently Asked Questions

In November 2022, World Sleep Society launched a new membership website at member.worldsleepsociety.org. This is the official website used for all membership dues, event registrations, and other purchases.

Is my profile information public?

No. There is a directory feature in member.worldsleepsociety.org, but no personal information other than an individual’s name is available.

How do I reset my password?

There is a link to reset your password on each login form; here is that link: https://member.worldsleepsociety.org/general/email_pass.asp

How do I check my membership status?

After logging in, click your name, then “Account + Settings,” then “Payments & History,” and then select the “Membership” tab. You can also click this link to go directly to the page (note: you must be logged in for the link to work): https://member.worldsleepsociety.org/members/membership.asp

What is a “non-member” account?

If you are not a current member, you will find that your “member type” has been set to “Non-Member” (see below). You will remain a “Non-Member” until you choose to upgrade or renew your membership. A “Non-Member” account is a free online account with World Sleep Society that allows you to maintain records of your registrations, purchases, etc. easily. No member benefits are included.

Can I apply over the phone or through email?

Yes. To become a member over the phone, please call the World Sleep Society administrative office at +1 507-316-0084. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm central US time.

To become a member via email, complete the membership form and send to [email protected]. You may also call to provide the payment information if you prefer, or we can create an invoice in your online account for the membership dues.

How long will my membership last?

Each membership lasts through December 31 of the calendar year. New or renewed memberships after October 1 will be automatically extended through the following calendar year.

How do I renew my membership?

First log into your online account with World Sleep Society. If your membership is expiring soon, you should see an expiration notice and link to renew (see example below).

You can also renew your membership by clicking on your name, then “Account + Settings,” then “Payments & History,” and finally the “Membership” tab. On this page there will be an option to renew your membership if renewals are available yet.

Where can I find my member number?

World Sleep Society does not use member numbers. The important account information you should track is your username and email address.

Can I get a membership certificate?

Yes. Any current member can download a member certificate and fill in their name. The member certificate can be downloaded from the Member Resources page: https://member.worldsleepsociety.org/page/resources. Only current members have access to this page.  

If my local society is an Associate Society Member of WSS, am I automatically a member of WSS too?

No, you are not automatically a member of WSS. However, individuals who are members of our Associate Society Members do receive a $10 discount on WSS membership. Please contact [email protected] with a recent receipt or other documentation that demonstrates current membership in the Associate Society, and we will provide a discount code for you to use.
