Job Description:

The primary goal of this position is to advance studies of the relationships between sleep, cognition, blood pressure and vascular disease. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with interest in modelling epidemiological associations using comprehensive clinical and physiological data (sleep, blood pressure), alongside longitudinal cognitive and brain imaging markers. Modelling may include assessments of potential influences of genetic background and mediation by cardiovascular disease, as well as new methods for the analysis of 24-hour blood pressure measurements and advanced physiological signals from overnight sleep records, and relating sleep exposures to vascular disease, cognitive outcomes and brain imaging data.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in epidemiology, biostatics, neuroscience, or computer science. The fellow will work with a team with biomedical engineering, biostatistical, epidemiological, cardiovascular, and clinical expertise. There will be opportunities to participate in multi-center research consortia. Salary and fringe benefits commensurate with experience will be provided in compliance with approved NIH standards. Individuals with a strong publication record and training in quantitative methods and experience with modeling clinical or physiological data are especially encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates should send 1) a personal statement including a description of research interests, 2) three potential referees and 3) a Curriculum Vitae to Dr. Shaun Purcell ([email protected]) and Dr. Susan Redline ([email protected]).
