The Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) is the peak scientific body in Australia and New Zealand representing clinicians, scientists and researchers working in sleep health and sleep medicine. It promotes and provides education and training to members and the broader health community. ASA also fosters scientific research and establishes best-practice clinical guidelines.

Vision

A community with healthy sleep practices, supported by best-practice sleep science and sleep medicine

Mission

Lead and promote sleep health and sleep science, provide professional development for members, foster research and establish clinical standards

Key activities include Sleep DownUnder, an annual conference featuring the best of Australia and New Zealand sleep research, clinical practice and sleep science. The Fellow of Dental Sleep Medicine certification program assesses clinical competencies in dental sleep medicine for dentists in Australia and New Zealand as well as internationally. We are actively upskilling primary healthcare practitioners in Australia through two grant programs focussing on sleep health skills and knowledge for general practitioners, psychologists, nurses and pharmacists.
