The ASEAN Sleep Federation is a regional society currently composed of associate sleep societies from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. It was established in 2011 to promote the development of the field of Sleep Medicine and sleep health awareness among ASEAN countries. Its vision is to encourage the development of Sleep Health professionals (i.e., Specialists, Primary Care, Allied Health Care) through networking and collaboration between ASEAN countries. Among its goals are to facilitate academic meetings and discussions in Sleep Medicine in ASEAN, to support each other in training programs, development of certification, and hosting of examinations, to serve as advocates in promoting public health policies regarding sleep health and public safety, and to support each other in engaging public campaigns for Sleep Health. It is in the process of registering as a regional society in Malaysia. The governing board is composed of a President, President Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and 2 representatives from each member country. It is also to be governed by a constitution and by-laws.
