If you are committed to advancing your career in sleep science while building meaningful international connections, we encourage you to explore the program further and begin your application process.
Application Timeline
Applications for future cohorts are accepted year-round. However, applicants seeking consideration for the upcoming cohort must submit all materials by March 31.
Early acceptance may be available to assist with travel planning, visa arrangements, and accommodation coordination.
New cohorts officially begin on July 1 each year.
Eligibility Requirements
We encourage interested prospective mentees and applicants to begin exploring mentor sites and preparing their application materials as early as possible.
Eligibility Criteria Checklist
- Active member of World Sleep Society
- Education requirement: PhD, MD, or equivalent degree
- Communication skills: 20-minute English intake interview
- Funding: Copy of funding letter or evidence of funding OR provisional status until letter of funding received * Disclaimer: If funding is not received, individual is unable to continue program
- Availability to commit to a one-year program (July 1 to June 30)

Application Materials Checklist
- Completed application
- A personal statement detailing plans for research and how to develop sleep research in country of origin (max 500 words)
- Biosketch
- Letter of support from home mentor related to academic performance
- Letter of support from home institution
- Two letters of support from members of home institution who are active in research
- Copy of funding letter or evidence of funding OR provisional status until letter of funding received
