The recently established sleep research group under the supervision of Dr Alpar Lazar at the Faculty of Medicine and Heath Science, UEA, is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to contribute to a Wellcome trust funded sleep research project. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone interested to pursue research in sleep and/or cognitive neuroscience to contribute to ground-breaking research aiming to investigate sleep-wake regulatory disturbances in people with increased genetic risk to develop Alzheimer’s disease. The successful candidate will work on all aspects of data collection which will involve the recruitment of participants, administering computerised and paper based psychological tests and questionnaires, as well as the coordination of the laboratory phase of the sleep studies including setting up EEG electrodes, sleep and wake EEG data acquisition, and data management. Due to the nature of sleep research, the position will require some flexibility and overnight shifts. Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Psychology, or other relevant field. Some experience in administering neuropsychological tests as well as experience in research will also be an advantageous.
