World Sleep 2019 Honoraria and Reimbursement Policy

World Sleep Foundation (World Sleep Society/World Sleep 2019) does not provide honoraria to academic planners, committee members, co-chairs, or speakers. No individual involved in a CME activity may receive payments directly from a commercial interest, including honoraria, travel, out-of-pocket expenses or other payments.

Reimbursement Policy
Complimentary registration and reimbursement of travel costs will be based on the following eligibility guidelines:

Keynote Speakers

  • Complementary registration
  • Transportation to Vancouver (coach fare arranged by our travel office)
  • Ground transportation
  • Hotel accommodations for 3 to 4 nights based on need
  • Access to all social activities

Program Committee and Scientific Committee Chairs

  • Complimentary registration
  • Hotel accommodations for 2 nights: Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21

Course Speakers

  • Hotel accommodations for 1 or 2 nights based on the date of the course
    • Saturday Course Speakers:
      • 2 nights: Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21
    • Sunday Course Speakers:
      • 1 night: Saturday, September 21

Hotel Reimbursement Policy
Unless prior approval is obtained, all complimentary hotel stays must be booked under the official congress block in order to qualify for reimbursement. Booking instructions will be provided.

Submitted Symposium, Abstracts and Affiliated Meeting Speakers

Accepted symposium, abstract and affiliated meeting speakers must register to participate in the congress and are not eligible to receive reimbursements for travel expenses.

Invited Symposium, Technologist and Surgeon Presenters

  • Complimentary registration
  • Definition of Invited Speaker: An invited speaker is someone outside of the field of sleep who typically would not attend our conference. An example would be when the chair of the symposium has received approval to invite a symposium speaker to present on a topic that would not otherwise be presented by others attending the congress. The invited symposium speaker would receive complimentary registration to attend and present their findings. Invitation to act as an invited speaker is required to be processed by the World Sleep Society office.
